About
Deepak Agrawal, MD, MPH, MBA, is a practicing gastroenterologist with a focus on pancreas and biliary and advanced endoscopy. He is chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Dell Medical School, focused on the tripartite mission of clinical care, education and research within the Department of Internal Medicine and Dell Med. Teaching, helping and working alongside trainees is especially important to him and the essence of academic medicine. He has a special interest in high-value care and promoting environmental, financial and social sustainability in health care. He has published extensively on this topic, and a number of his ideas have been implemented at other institutions. He serves on the review boards of medical journals and national and international gastroenterology committees. He is a fellow of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Gastroenterology.
